If your daffodils are popping up and pink camellias are just opening in your garden, you'll be shouting 'About Bloody Time Too!!!"
Spring is around the courner and glorious sunshine is on its way. After way too many months of being buried in your fleecy blanket watching box sets, its time to come out of hibernation and open your home up to welcome the warmer weather. So here are our top tips for getting your home Spring Ready.
Clear those surfaces!
The most popular interior/home images on Pinterest show rooms which are pretty much clutter free. A room with clear space and surfaces looks inviting, clean and modern. That's not to say we are advocating minimalism for everyone , just striping things back a bit to give each room a fresh start.
The easiest way to do this is almost pretend you are moving out, empty the room as much as you can, pull the sofa away from the walls, (clean the carpet of dust hiding behind it !) and if you have the space, move your furniture around a little. Then put back all the extras and as you do, be ruthless. Maybe some small pieces of furniture, artwork or objects could be swapped into another room, or best sent to the charity Shop ;) The room will feel like it's fresh and new again.

Let the light in..
Not all of us will need to do this, but there are bound to be many of you who have curtains at the window. Apart from the obvious need to give these a clean once in a while, a really good way to change the feel of a room is to lighten the window treatment. Lined curtains or darker color curtains are a great choice for winter, when the nights are long and dark and you want to shut out the horrid weather.
Consider swapping your usual curtains for a light-weighted, unlined fabric for Spring and Summer when the sun can shine in on those long summer days. Or if you want to create a more contemporary look consider blinds such as Luxaflex Duette, Twist or Venetian blinds which look stunning with slanted sunlight shining through.

A really quick and inexpensive way to change the mood and season of a room is change the accent colour. If you've had berry red cushions on your sofa through Christmas, now's the time to change them for a fresh colour that will last through summertime. Small objects like coloured glass vases and candles are another way to introduce a new colour accent into a room and change it's feel.
If you want something more dramatic, consider buying a pot of paint and giving a feature wall a fresh blast of colour, or paint an old wooden piece of furniture. All of these are quick, inexpensive ways to transform a room for the new season.

Bring the outside in...
Springtime is all about the beauty of colourful flowers, green leaves and birdsong. Bring some of that glorious rejuvenation inside with cut flowers, indoor plants and fresh scents. Again you don't have to spend a fortune to do this, buy some lovely essential oils and an oil burner to fill your home with the scent of orange blossom or lavender. Raid your recycling drawer for any glass bottles you can find and create a mantelpiece of fresh spring flowers or visit B&Q or your local garden centre to buy a few soft ferns for longlife green foliage. Living plants transform a room and literally breathe life into it.
Sit back and Enjoy!
So the house feels like new; it's clean and tidy and filled with the colours and smells of Springtime. All you have to do now is sit back and enjoy. And what better way to do that than with a good cuppa and a homemade treat!
